Diego Maradona is a 2019 British documentary film directed by Asif Kapadia[4] about the Argentine footballer Diego Maradona with never before seen archival footage.[5] It was screened out of competition at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival.[6][7]
A British venture, the film was produced by On The Corner Film, in association with Film 4 with Altitude Film serving as distributor.[1] The film was theatrically released in the United Kingdom on 14 June 2019.
Constructed from over 500 hours of never-before-seen footage, this documentary centers on the career of celebrated football player Diego Armando Maradona, who played for S.S.C. Napoli in the 1980s.
